We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our Innovation Cell at Clevertronics has been shortlisted for the INDE Design Awards, category The Learning Space. The Innovation Cell observes best practice sustainable design principles and makes the best use of natural light and eco-friendly materials.
Today, the Design Institute of Australia (DIA)—Australia’s peak national body spearheading the design industry released the shortlist for its inaugural Designers Australia 2021 Awards. An impressive shortlist of 74 entries was announced across the three cross-disciplinary categories—Place, Use, and Interact. The unique awards, a first for the industry identify Australia’s best designers and studios emphasising the individual/s and their design processes as much as the outcome. A1 Office has been nominated for the category of place for two of our projects; A1 Office for Noma Consulting, A1 Office for Clevertronics.
Unassuming, sustainable, discreet and highly functional; the Clevertronics space is intelligent design in action. Inspired by their work as emergency lighting engineers — taking the complex and purposeful and making it simple to the eye; the space offers a physical journey of discovery that tells the Clevertronics story.

A1 Office’s design for Noma Consulting was a 2020 finalist in the Small Workplace category for Shaw Contract Design Awards. This sustainably designed space echoes the client’s work in engineering underground tunnels to create a distinctive, high-end and seamless environment that’s comfortable and inspiring to work in.

Our use of eco-friendly carpet tiles (manufactured from recycled plastic bottles diverted from landfill and the ocean) was spotlighted in a short write-up for Architecture & Design.
